Well it is that time of the year again.  The last summer holiday is over and now we get ready for fall and Halloween. The Halloween candy is starting to arrive with more and more coming in everyday.  You may be surprise to know that due to all the trick or treaters and parties, Halloween the number one selling candy season, with Valentines Day after it.

There are many great treats available for the season. Candy corn is the number one selling and most recognized candy at Halloween. There are many brands available , however Brach's is the number one selling brand. Unlike many of the other candy corns Brach's is made with real honey which gives it a flavor that stands out from all the others.

Candy corn was first invented over 100 years ago. It's three colors and shaped resemble that of a real kernel of corn making it associated with fall and harvest time. These little corn shaped candies were a real treat back in the day as there was no mass production available so the quantity was low , but the demand was high.

Candy corn  is pretty much the same recipe today as when it started , however the major difference is mass production allowing a better availability. At some speciality shops you can get candy corn year round, however 80% of the sales of these little treats are between the months of August and October. It may be hard to believe but during the Halloween season over 20 million pounds of this corned is consumed.

These are one of those candies that kids expect to see at their grandparents house for some reason grandma's believe this is a must have fall treat. After all it is a popular candy to hand out all those little devils, ghost and witches that come knocking at your door for treats.

Not only do these taste good , but they are used many time at schools for arts and crafts. I can remember more then once in art class using candy corn to decorate a frame or making some sort of  Halloween themed picture and using candy corn to decorate it.

Not only does it come in the traditional white, orange and yellow kernels, but you can also get indian corn . Indian corn is actually white , yellow and brown. The brown part being chocolate, Brach's makes their Indian corn with real cocoa. So for those chocolate lovers there is a candy corn for you too.

For those of you that just love this treat  and can not get enough of it don't worry. Reindeer corn is available at Christmas. This corn is made using white , red and green. We can't forget about bunny corn which is available during Easter which has the same great tasting just made in pastel colors.

Check out all our great Halloween treats whether you are looking for something different to hand out or looking for one of your favorites I am sure you will be pleased with our selection.
