Tucked away in the back of a closet shelf filled with Sunday bonnets and fur-lined hats, the tiny china tea set waited for the next tea party. Its tiny dishes decorated in fancy swirl patterns of bright blue color would be filled with deliciously sweet pieces of chocolate candy, Necco Wafers, and Licorice Wheels. Sometimes we pretended to have real tea and other times we made do with Kool-Aid. Occasionally, we varied things up a bit and had regular or peanut M & Ms for our tea party, pretending the red ones were cherries, the yellow ones were creamy butter cookies, and the brown ones were expensive chocolates. However, nothing tasted better than our caramel or peanut butter filled pieces of chocolate candies!
